Brave Pilot Lands On River
by admin
Chesley Sullenberger III, the pilot of US Airways A320 became famous overnight after he saved the lives of 155 passengers on board. He had to crash land the plane on Hudson River after both the engines failed to work soon after the takeoff. The passengers and crews were all safe and he himself before leaving the plane to safe zone made it sure that no one was left inside the plane.
The plane departed from the LaGuardia Airport and soon damaged both of its engines after colliding with a flock of birds around 3:30 in the afternoon. As soon as the captain announced the emergency situation, everybody inside the plane panicked. They hid their heads behind their laps and started to pray. The captain had an option to emergency land at the nearby airport at Teterboro but ultimately he did not. He headed towards the Hudson River and finally the plane hit the water with a bang. An eyewitness said that everybody felt like going through a minor motor accident. Most of the passengers were hurled into the front seats.
Finally the rescue boat came and saved everyone on board. Nobody was seriously injured and Sullenberger became a real hero after saving 155 lives. Had he not acted in this manner, the result could have been more than worse.
