Radical animal rights activists have proposed making lab-grown meat on a large-scale production worldwide. They have offered one million dollars to the scientist who can come up with a way to grow edible animal tissue to stop cruel methods of killing animals for food.
People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) is saying that their idea could save millions of animals each year as well as prove to be beneficial to the environment. The proposal has met with both approval and disapproval by various groups of people. Many people find the idea of eating test-tube manufactured food revolting, and others find the idea appealing.
Artificial meat has been grown in laboratories on a small scale but nothing like that which the PETA is proposing. It may be an idea that will change the world, or it may never reach past the stage of being a proposal. What are your thoughts?
