You can always buy aquariums but they are damn expensive. Wouldn’t you be happy to build your own? After a bit of calculation and research, the necessary items and glass are brought and fixed together with silicone. The tank needs to be kept for at least three days with filled water for a successful stress test. After that you can put gravels, filters, air pumps, plants and other items for decoration. Once done, you have to pour fresh water added with few drops of chlorine remover.

The next step consists of buying fish. Just don’t fall for the look, rather choose them on the basis of their characteristics. Some fishes are territorial while others love to hide behind plants. Try to pick those fishes, which are capable of sharing the same tank with others. The quantity of fish should depend on the size of the tank. If it is overcrowded, the fish will get stressed and hence it can result in various diseases. This can contaminate and discolor the water inside the tank. Only buy fish from reputed seller. Often sellers try to sell sick fishes. Fishes should be bought in pairs. They don’t mix well with other fishes in the tank, thus a partner is more required. Feed them regularly and clean the water whenever required.

If you follow these simple steps, you will be able to have big aquarium at the minimum cost. Treat them with care and be a proud owner of dozens of fish.

Keeping a dog at home is not an easy job. Every dog lover knows that having a dog at home is like having a baby and you have to take care of it.

The kind of care that a dog needs depends on the breed of the dog. If the dog has thick and long hair, then definitely the dog needs more attention. There are certain objectives, which you need to follow to maintain dog’s hygiene. Make sure that your dog does not carry any infection. Many parasites that are easily found in dogs can be transmitted to other people including both children and adults. Always keep your dog under your watchful supervision. In order to provide the dog with basic amenities of healthcare, one needs to understand the anatomy of the animal coupled with information of few diseases related to animals. If you have the knowledge of a particular breed, you will be able to come to a conclusion about the diseases that a dog can suffer from.

Part of India is now suffering from the deadly H5N1 strain of bird flu. This virus has been detected in tribal areas of Navapur in Maharashtra. Few months back parts of South East Asia, Africa, Europe and part of Central Asia was swamped across by this deadly disease.

Though the experts were expecting this disease to hit hard on the soil of India, it never happened till the last week. The High Security Animal Disease Laboratory of Bhopal has altered the State Governments and asked them to take appropriate measures.

Out of the dozen samples that were tested, the laboratory found the presence of the deadly virus in 8 of them. Blood samples were obtain from the dead birds and tested at the laboratory. During the last fortnight more than 50,000 chickens have died due to this disease.

The core group of the Bhopal laboratory has examined the samples and has anticipated the presence of the deadly disease. Some samples of the bird flu were also received from Bangkok. The experts tried to compare the local samples with the samples of Bangkok. At the end of the comparison, the experts confirmed
about the bird flu.

Researchers have discovered that feeding children fish from a young age can drastically reduce the chance of eczema. Their studies have revealed that if you feed a baby fish within their first nine months, their chances of getting eczema are reduced by 24%.

Eczema affects one in five babies before they reach one year of age, and the numbers have been increasing in recent years. According to the Swedish study, it does not matter what kind of fish your baby gets fed, and it can be either oily or white fish. Research has also revealed that having a pet bird in the home will also decrease the chances of your child getting eczema.

Remains of a 120 million year old dinosaur have been discovered in the village of Morello in Eastern Spain. The exciting discovery may be from an unknown species, and scientists are very excited with the find. The bones are all relatively intact, and thus far the vertebrae, ribs and thigh bone have been found from this enormous animal. (more…)

The southwest of England has been suffering from a record high number of strandings of dolphins along the coast. Experts fear that the loss of any more bottlenose dolphins in the area could cause the end of them all together. Conservationists have worked hard to devise a system to help the dolphins avoid being prey to fishing nets and the plan will be implemented in the waters of Cornwall. (more…)

Radical animal rights activists have proposed making lab-grown meat on a large-scale production worldwide. They have offered one million dollars to the scientist who can come up with a way to grow edible animal tissue to stop cruel methods of killing animals for food. (more…)
