Big Dog is the US Army’s latest attempt to take some of the weight off their soldiers. The massive 11 stone machine is designed to carry four bags full of equipment through terrain that is virtually impossible to pass by any other vehicle.

Big Dog stands at two feet height, three feet long and resembles a large dog. Complete with four legs, the machine can pass over ice, over hills or rubble, and anything else that you can imagine. Big Dog travels at a continuous four mile per hour pace, and is both sturdy and strong. The machine keeps standing even if attacked, and is an amazing feat of engineering. On-board computers and a video camera system enable the machine to travel at the same pace, and the invention could be handy for troops all over the world.
