Good bye to doing everything on your PC that you want. Limit your online games, down loads and sending files - unless you want to pay the price.

AT& T announced that it may be penalizing heavy broadband users.  This is the second company to announce such changes to their service. In Beaumont, Texas Time Warner Cable started a trial earlier this month in which charge subscribers who go over their monthly bandwidth cap $1 per gigabyte.

What does this mean for consumers? For people who play online games such as WoW, EVE Online, Lineage and other popular MMORPG and those people who do a lot of downloading and file sharing, you will be penalized.

Is this fair to consumers? Not really. People who heavily use their internet keep these companies in business. There is no sense in charging your top users for using a product for what it is designed for.

This is a slippery slide for companies. Some consumer will leave the companies that over charge them for other options. If a user likes DSL they can use any company that provides service in their area. Most areas have at least 5 providers to choose from.

Cable users may have a harder time replacing their provider since in the majority of cities there is only 1 cable provider. DSL is still an open option for them. Either way, comapnies will loose business once consumers become more aware of their options.

In India the revered Sardar Bhagat Singh College of Technology and Management named the Indian god Hanuman a board chairman. This monkey god is known for strength and valor. The school decided to name him chairman thinking that it will bring them great success. The job comes with a posh office that includes a laptop.

How does this affect us all exactly? If you think about it, if each college in the world did this, they would be able to lower the amount of tuition. The schools would easily save $100,00/year (well depending on where it was) which is a drop in the bucket, but every little bit helps when it comes to lowering costs.

The only problem: how does he cast a vote at the meetings?

Up until recently maimed animals were put to death. Science has been coming to their aid. In recent times, horses have been given prosthetic legs and an eagle has been given a prosthetic beak.

People are going out of their way to help animals that would have died or been killed by what had happened to them. In doing so, they are not just helping animals survive, these people are learning more about how animals act, how their bodies really work and what we can do to prevent such incidents from occurring.

An added benefit is learning how different types or prosthetics work which could help further develop human prosthetics.
